I've always been interested in capturing those images that you encounter just in passing: a chance glimpse into the window of a department store, turning for moment to see if the person who's just passed you on the street is someone familiar. Every morning I sit on the porch and look out at this kitchen window that reflects the big fir tree just outside. The light changes it from moment to moment and the image is always accompanied these days by birdsong. Bird feathers are often reflected in the window along with the branches of the tree. The birds flit in and out and the light changes. The sun grows warmer in the sky and the light shimmers in the heat.
