I have been totally preoccupied the last few days with mouseproofing the house. Haven't seen a mouse here in several years and then a few weeks ago, Bam, they decided to visit. We have seen three sightings and yesterday I had an exterminator come to point out all the gaps and holes in the house's exterior where said mice felt they had been extended an invitation. So, yesterday afternoon, I spent many dollars at the hardware store on insulating foam, silicone caulk, steel wool and paper towels. I hadn't used a caulking gun in about 25 years. Last night, I realized I overdid it. One's back is not intended to be bent over for long periods while staring upside down trying to apply silicone caulk with a cauking gun that doesn't want to cooperate. So, today, I decided to put steel wool around the radiator pipes and then call it a day.
Despite the mouse problem, the weather here has been spectacular. Everything is changing so quickly. Tomorrow morning we're hoping to get out early to the woods to bask in some of this loveliness.
