A cooler, sunny day today. Cool enough to turn off the air conditioner and open the front windows.
When we first moved into this house 25 years ago, we were sitting in the living room one beautiful fall night and had all seven windows thrown open to the breeze. Then, we started to hear someone playing a French horn close by. The music was thrilling and made us feel that we were getting our own private concert. Later we learned that the young man who had been playing lived across the street. He's since grown up and now plays in the Chicago Symphony!
